How do I pick the best vibration machine for me?

When I first started learning about Whole Body Vibration Machines, I was thoroughly confused. Every manufacturer had different terms (some of which were only found on their sites). G-Force, HZ, Oscillating, Pivotal, Triangular, Spiral-I couldn’t make heads or tails of it. I’ve tried to put together the easiest to understand guide to vibration machines as I possibly could to help you narrow down your choices. Please read below and take our survey at the bottom of this page. One of our specialists will be happy to help you narrow down the right machine for your needs and your body.

Motion of Platforms

Not all motions are the same! This is the most important part of your vibration machine decision. Different motions have dramatically different effects on the body. The machine that focuses on building muscle is not going to be the same machine you want if your concern is detoxification.

Sonic Sound Vibration

Sonic Vibration uses magnetic circuits in conjunction with a powerful speaker system. These systems are much quieter than mechanical vibration. It is a softer, more natural motion with the same or greater results. These machines are great for lymphatic drainage, blood circulation, pain reduction, weight loss, detoxification and, on the higher settings, also effective for muscle building and toning. These machines are just awesome, you will be amazed at how sound waves can make your body feel, and when you get off the machine, you retain that feeling. They are addicting, you will want to do more than one session a day just because of how you feel after you’re done. The down side to these machines are that they are a bit more expensive than other machines. Click here to shop sound vibration machines.

Oscillating/Pivotal

This is a see-saw motion. The platform alternates–one side goes up while the other goes down repeatedly. These machines are able to go down to 5HZ which is the best for increasing lymphatic drainage and detoxing your body of waste. The higher HZ range on these machines also makes them great for increased circulation and bone density, Lymphatic improvement, pain reduction, and detoxification. Tri-planar/Linear

Linear machines (move straight up and down like a jackhammer) are great for building muscle but are a very rough motion for your body. Today the linear motion has been upgraded to a tri-planar motion. Tri-planar moves up and down like a linear machine, but also forward and backwards, so you get the muscle-building effects of a linear machine, but without the wear and tear on your joints. Tri-Planar machines are great for weight loss, muscle toning, bone density, but you will also see some benefits in circulation and detoxification. But again, consider your needs/goals. If you are more concerned with detoxification and lymphatic drainage, you may want a pivotal, spiral, or sonic machine. Click here to shop tri-planar/linear machines

Orbital/Spiral/Dual

These machines combine the oscillating and tri-planar motors creating a figure-8 motion. This motion is gentle on the back and joints. These machines are ideal for weight loss, lymphatic drainage, and circulation. These two motors may be run separately, giving you the additional benefits of muscle toning, reduction in swelling, and improvements in bone density. If you want the most bang for your buck these machines are the way to go. Click here to shop orbital/spiral/dual machines

Motors-

AC Motors have higher EMFs. EMFs (electromagnetic fields) are invisible lines of energy that surround an electrical device. Our bodies naturally create EMFs and when we are exposed to EMFs from unhealthy sources they interfere with the way our bodies naturally work. From causing sleep disturbances and headaches to Fibromyalgia and Cancer, EMFs can do serious damage to our bodies. AC power alternates back and forth from the electrical source to the appliance about 60 times per second. It creates a weak electrical current that works on the appliance as well as our bodies.

DC Motors have lower EMFs. Direct current motors have a current that flows one way from the power source to the appliance. This flow of energy does not create that same electrical current and does not affect our bodies.

HZ Frequencies

The HZ frequency is the number of times your muscles will contract on that setting for one second. If your vibration machine is set at 25HZ, in 4 seconds you will have had 100 muscle contractions. Different benefits are achieved from different settings. The lower settings are better for detoxing and your lymph system while the higher setting are better for increasing bone density and building muscle.

Amplitude

Amplitude is how high up and down the platform moves.

G Force

G Force is a bit more complicated than some sites make it sound. G force is a measurement based on gravity, the user’s weight, the amplitude and the frequency of the machine. The higher the G-force, the bigger the motor and the smaller the platform will be. A higher G Force will give you a more intense the workout in a shorter amount of time. While you are reading this and thinking to yourself, “I need the highest G-force available”, you probably don’t. If you are looking to build bone density, get lymphatic drainage, and some muscle toning you don’t need more than 7 or 8 G’s.
